What a warped article. I also empathise with anyone in these situations, however there is always another side. These issues start with the doctors involved, who often will not document that a person has less than 12 months to live for fear of claims under PI insurance.
What about other options, Total & Permanent Insurance, possibility of meeting Conditions of Release, and as said above, claims under compassionate grounds.
Super Funds by nature are empathic, and caring of their members. These decisions are not taken lightly, and it is a two way street, with the member working with the Fund.
As to the Federal member, maybe he should do some research on the rules, and how they work, rather than using an opportunity for a press release
